A violent storm hit Milazzo, causing flooding and inconvenience in various areas of the city. Mayor Pippo Midili announced the activation of the Municipal Operations Center (Coc) to coordinate emergency interventions.
«We have activated the Coc at the Municipality – declared Midili – and we are monitoring and intervening in various points of the city due to yet another storm with unusual rainfall. Civil Protection personnel, traffic police and municipal staff are in the area to alleviate the inconveniences that are inevitably being created.”

It’s a complicated Sunday in the Messina area. Water bomb in Taormina: at the moment Via Luigi Pirandello is closed to traffic following the fall of branches of an ancient cypress near the entrance, above the cable car that connects the historic center with the seaside hamlet of Mazzaró. Critical issues were also recorded in the hamlet of Trappitello where Via Arancio was flooded again. On Via Francavilla in the main hamlet there was minor damage to the road surface. The Civil Protection of Giardini Naxos has recommended caution to motorists due to yet another flooding of the main road in the Pallio district. Police monitoring is underway to check for any further damage.
