After the break for the national team matches, Italian’s Bologna restarts the championship in the best possible way. The Emilian team defeated Cagliari 2-0 at the Unipol Domus, thus continuing their previous victory against Pisa. Bologna scores a goal in each half, scoring first with Holm, then with substitute Orsolini. Thanks to the three points gained in Sardinia the rossoblù move up to fourth place in the standings, equal to Milan (playing this evening against Fiorentina). As for the new lineup, Italiano is already thinking about the Europa League and chooses to let Skorupski, Orsolini and Lucumi catch their breath; on the other hand, however, Pisacane opts for the light attack composed of the Esposito-Felici duo. After a slow start, the match began to develop emotions from the middle of the first half. In the 26th minute Felici’s goal was canceled due to Adopo’s offside position at the time of the assist. Cagliari comes close to taking the lead again thanks to the central insertion of Folorunsho, anticipated in a low exit by an attentive Ravaglia. In the 30th minute Bologna also concretely appears in the offensive zone with a powerful shot from Bernardeschi, deflected over the crossbar by Caprile. On the following corner, however, the guests broke the deadlock, also thanks to a too soft attitude from the Sardinian defence: Holm took care of capitalizing on Odgaard’s winning move, protagonist of a strike in front of goal which made it 1-0.
Before the break, Bologna immediately risks squandering the goal scored, allowing a freeway for the central insertion of Felici, stopped again by a providential Ravaglia. After ten minutes of the second half, Pisacane began to move some players, introducing Borelli and Luvumbo to increase the weight of their attack. Bologna’s defense, however, proved to be impeccable and the home team never managed to break through during the second half. Italiano’s boys then definitively closed the practice in the 80th minute, when the substitute Orsolini made it 2-0: Obert guiltily allowed too much space to the Italian winger who returned on the left and kicked powerfully under the seven. With this marking Orsolini becomes the solo top scorer in Serie A, with five goals. After Bologna’s second goal, Cagliari disappears from the field and in the final moments referee Marchetti removes with VAR a penalty initially awarded in favor of the guests. Italian can enjoy the three points and the first away win of the season
