“We have to support Aieta to the national competition Borgo dei Borghi 2025. It is important for full Calabria. We all vote Aieta as we did in the previous editions of the competition, when the title won Tropea and when, like last year, we guaranteed second place in Badolato. This is an opportunity that each of us has to enhance our territory, to make known the millennial history of Aieta and therefore demonstrate to Italy, in the world, how beautiful Calabria is. As a region, with the president Roberto Occhiuto, we are focusing a lot on various actions to give birth to entrepreneurial activities and repopulate our villages, to ensure that those who want to come to reside in our enchanting places such as, for example, retirees, digital nomads, distance workers, can do so “.
This was stated by the Councilor for Economic Development and Cultural Attractors of the Calabria Region, Rosario Varì, at the press conference to present the candidacy of the Municipality of Aieta to the 12th edition of “The village of the villages 2025”.
“Aieta – continued Varn – is a wonderful village, with breathtaking landscapes, set in the Pollino Park, almost suspended between the sky and the sea. We will be able to win or not, this contest will still allow us to show Aieta even to many Calabrians who do not know it, it will allow us to stimulate the visit of our territories, to promote their beauty around Italy and the world. We want to make sure that the Calabrians are proud of the naturalistic and cultural richness of their territory – finally reiterated the commissioner Varì – who contribute to affirming it and promoting it. Aieta is a treasure chest of art, beauty, culture, millennial history that must be enhanced like all the beautiful villages of Calabria “.
At the meeting with the press, which took place today at the regional citadel in Catanzaro, the president and delegate for Calabria also intervened at the National Council of the Association of the most beautiful villages in Italy, respectively Andrea Ponzo and Bruno Cortese, the mayor of Aieta, Pasquale De Franco, and the president of the province of Cosenza, Rosaria Succurro.

Located under the rocks where the eagles from which the name of Aieta who in Greek -Significa Aquila nested, has millennial traditions that can ensure that anyone who visits it lives a unique experience not replicable in other places.
