Both from Calabria, committed on the front lines to ensure justice, both with work experience in Campania. There is a thin thread that seems to link the stories of Federico Bisceglia And Nicholas Gratteri. For this reason, the Municipal Administration of Botricello wanted Gratteri to receive this year’s award named after the Calabrian magistrate who died at only 45 years of age in a road accident on the Salerno – Reggio Calabria highway.

On one hand, a young and promising magistrate who has left an extraordinary memory for his commitment, passion, competence and civic spirit; on the other, the prosecutor par excellence, today at the helm of the most important Prosecutor’s Office in Southern Italy after the immense work carried out in Catanzaro.

In addition to Attorney Gratteri, there are four personalities who have distinguished themselves in the history, development and promotion of Botricello. We start from Philip DeGraziafounder of one of the fundamental families for the Ionian town, head of one of the most important agricultural companies in the entire regional panorama, descendant of the noble family that first arrived in Botricello. He is joined by an internationally renowned director, Max Ivan Falsettaa native of Botricello, but capable of winning several national and international awards, assistant director of personalities of the calibre of Giuseppe Tornatore And Victor De Seta.

The story of Patricia Ferroengaged as an engineer in various parts of the world, is engaged as president of the association “A Heart for Botricello” with which she has carried out many prevention initiatives for the fight against tumors, a disease against which she herself has fought with great tenacity. During her business trips abroad she has always promoted the image of Botricello, to the point of recommending our location to many people from all over the world.

The doctor’s example is of great value Pasquale Romeo, doctor in service in the Complex Operating Unit of Pneumology of the University Hospital of Catanzaro as well as head of the Rare Disease Clinic. Dr. Romeo represents the good and sweet face of medicine, for having always welcomed each patient as if they were a member of the family, ensuring loving care and demonstrating that even in Calabria it is possible to offer an excellent and human-sized health service.

“I am proud of the five names identified for the third edition of the Award – said the mayor Saverio Simone Puccio -. It was a very complex job that the Municipal Administration carried out because Botricello boasts nationally famous people in various sectors, that’s why every year we want to offer our recognition to these people. The presence of the Prosecutor Gratteri – he added – represents the main piece of this mosaic. The symbolic link between the figure of Gratteri and that of Bisceglia seems to indicate the path on which the growth path of the whole of Calabria must move, marking two clear examples of commitment and dedication, sacrifice and passion, always keeping the bar of justice and legality straight. That of August 5 will be an unforgettable evening for Botricello to hand down to future generations”.
