The Council of State definitively confirmed the ruling of the TAR of Calabria which, upon appeal by Giovanna Macrì, candidate for mayor of the Municipality of Carfizzi, defended by the lawyer Francesco Pitaro, found fraud in the conduct of the electoral operations of section 2. More precisely, the TAR canceled the electoral operations of section 2, the proclamation of the elected representatives and ordered the renewal of the voting operations in the same section. «The Council of State – explains a note – confirmed the decision of the Catanzaro TAR and, in acceptance of the defense theses of the lawyer Pitaro, confirmed the lack of 2 ballots in section 2, the fraud that characterized the voting operations for the election of the new mayor of Carfizzi, speaking expressly of the use of the fraudulent system of the ballerina ballot».
«The Council of State – states Pitaro – confirmed the substantial and disabling irregularities that were immediately reported in the conduct of the elections for the choice of the new mayor of Carfizzi. The Council of State, in fact, fully confirming the ruling of the Catanzaro Regional Administrative Court, ascertained fraud and substantial irregularities in the conduct of the elections, a lack of ballots and the use of the fraudulent system of the ballerina ballot with entry into the polling station at night and violation of the seals by only the president and secretary (father and son) of the electoral office. On 26 and 27 October, therefore, the community of Carfizzi will be able to return to the vote and choose their mayor in a transparent and free way and without coercion”
