Everything is ready for the XIII edition of the Caccuri Literary Prize scheduled from 6 to 10 August 2024. Like every year, intellectuals, journalists, writers who animate the Italian cultural debate land in one of the most suggestive villages of the South. Four finalists will compete for the silver tower, created by the master goldsmith Michele Trusted by: Alessandro Giulijournalist and president of the Maxxi Foundation, with «Gramsci is alive» (Rizzoli); Paul Honeyseditorialist and twice director of the Corriere della Sera, with «Il secolo autoritario» (Rizzoli); Siegfried Ranuccijournalist and beating heart of Report on Rai Tre, with «La scelta» (Bompiani); Barbara Stefanellideputy director of Corriere della Sera, with «Love harder» (Solferino). The award ceremony of the essay contest and the concert of the maestro will follow Danilo Reainternationally renowned jazz pianist and author.
On August 6, the deputy director of the Corriere della Sera, Federico Fubiniwill present «Gold and the homeland. The story of Niccolò Introna, forgotten hero (Mondadori 2024). Then it will be the turn of Father Maurizio Patricielloanti-Camorra priest at the Parco Verde in Caivano, with «Gospel in the land of fires» (Alberti publishing company). The meeting will follow with Charles Massarinihistorical author and radio and TV host, in Caccuri with his latest book, «Vivo dal vivo 2010-2023» (Rizzoli Lizard). An authorial closing with «Absolutely Ennio Morricone», a symphonic concert with Luca Pincini (cello), Gilda Buttà (piano), Paolo Zampini (flute). On August 8th the Prize will pay homage to the hundred years of radio and the 70 years of television. The speakers will be Francesco Pionatidirector of Giornale Radio Rai and Radio Rai Uno. Later music critic and journalist Dario Salvatori will discuss his latest book, «Salvatori 2024» (Iacobelli editore). Candida Morvillojournalist of the Corriere della Sera and former director of Novella 2000, will be a guest of the award with his book «Se un genio dell’amore e non lo sai» (Harper Collins). Don’t miss the lesson on Corrado Alvaro by the writer and TV author, Andrea of Consoli. Karima will sing the hits of Burt Bacharach. On August 9th we start with «The education of butterflies» (Longanesi), written by Donato Carrisijournalist and criminology expert. The prosecutor of Naples, Nicholas Gratteri, will talk about his latest book, «Fuori dai confini. La ‘ndrangheta nel mondo» (Mondadori) written with Anthony Nicaso. The director of Rai Libri will speak immediately afterwards, Roberto Genovesiauthor of «The Angel Reaper» (Newton Compton). The journalist of the Fatto Quotidiano, Wild Lucarelli, will present his book, «Il vaso di pandoro» (Paper First).
Satisfied with the work done and ready for the final phase of this edition, the president of the jury of the Prize, the historian and essayist Giordano Bruno Guerri And Adolf Baron, president of the Academy of Caccuriani, together with the vice-presidents Robert of Candia And Olympius Talaric. From the Presa Diretta studio to the civil theatre with «Titanic», the journalist Corrado Formigli and the writer Stephen Massini bring to the stage, on Friday 9th August, the planet that is sinking in the indifference of all. During the first day of the Award, differentiated autonomy will also be discussed.
