The Council of the Calabria Region, chaired by the governor, Roberto Occhiuto, in today’s session, approved two important measures regarding education and work.

With an act of the Councilor for Education, Eulalia Micheli, the regional programming of the resources of the National Fund for the Integrated Education and Education System for 0-6 years for the year 2025 was approved, together with the related regional co-financing quota equal to 25% of the Fund, as required by current national legislation.

The provision implements the lines established by the multi-year national action plan 2021–2025 and by ministerial decree no. 7/2025, which distributes the Fund intended for the development of educational services for children and the qualification of state and private nursery schools among the Regions. For Calabria, the overall allocation expected for 2025 amounts to 13,488,378.10 euros, of which 10,790,702.72 allocated by the National Fund and 2,697,675.38 as the regional co-financing share. The resources will be allocated to three main lines of intervention envisaged by the National Plan: works on buildings (extraordinary maintenance, safety and redevelopment of nursery schools and nursery schools); expansion of educational services for 0–3 year olds (increase in places available in nursery schools and better territorial distribution of the offer); improvement of the quality of the educational offer 3–6 years (educational projects, inclusion, staff training and pedagogical innovation).

The approved plan identifies the beneficiary municipalities and the planned interventions, following the priorities established at national level and taking into account the projects presented by the territories.

On the recommendation of the Councilor for Labor Policies and Professional Training, Giovanni Calabrese, it was decided to give direction to the Labor Department for the identification of active policy paths lasting 6 months, intended for approximately 1000 social inclusion trainees, belonging to the pool referred to in the Dgr 538/2024, not included in the hiring procedures, initiated by the local authorities and other public bodies and companies involved, to be activated following the completion of the same hiring procedures.

The financial coverage of the operation is quantified at 5 million euros for six months.
