Calabria Region gives green light to purchase 10 new electric trains. Also ok to 183 million for the employment plan

The Regional Council of Calabria, in today’s session, on the joint proposal of the president Roberto Occhiuto and the councilor for labor policies and professional training, Giovanni Calabrese, hasThe Employment Plan 2023-2027 was approved, within the strategy of the Calabria Regional Programme Fesr-Fse+ 2021-2027, relating to the priorities “A Calabria with more opportunities” and “A more inclusive Calabria for young people”.

The Plan, with a financial endowment of 183 million eurosrepresents a strategic planning tool to guide the use of resources made available with the 2021/2027 programming cycle. The planned activities will contribute, on the one hand, to promoting the increase in quality employment, of young people and women, and on the other, to supporting structural interventions to give new impetus to employment and the economy of the region.

With another act of the assessor Calabrese, the methodology for the activation of recruiting days initiatives at the Regional Citadel and the tools for negotiated programming were established. The methods of managing recruiting initiatives, proposed by companies that intend to expand their employment base in the territory of the Calabria Region, were also established.

Also on the indication of Councilor Calabrese, in implementation of the agreement for cohesion, signed on February 16 between the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Calabria Region, within the scope of the unitary program of interventions aimed at the infrastructural, economic and social development of the territory using the resources of the Development and Cohesion Fund 2021-2027, with a commitment of resources equal to 10 million euros, the “Fondo Imprese donne e giovani – Fideg” was established, with a financial endowment of 9 million euros, identifying Fincalabra as the body delegated for the management of the financial instrument and the Regional Agency for Active Labor Policies (Arpal) for training and support activities.

Furthermore, Michele Angelo Iannone was confirmed as commissioner of the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection (Arpacal).

Then, the resolution of the vice president and councilor for Organization and Human Resources, Filippo Pietropaolo, was approved, authorizing the president of the public negotiating delegation (Dtpp) to definitively sign the decentralized company supplementary contract (Cida) for the personnel of the Regional Council sector; the criteria for the distribution of resources for the current year were also decided.

Also on the indication of the councilor Pietropaolo, the executive has also approved the Special Plan for legality, anti-racketeering and anti-usury, for the year 2024, prepared by the Regional Council of Calabria. The Plan contains the measures and actions to combat illegal phenomena but, above all, to prevent possible infiltrations into the economic and productive fabric of the ‘ndrangheta.

At the proposal of the Councilor for Social Policies, Caterina Capponi, the new deadline for the use of the residual sums transferred to the Calabria Region from the fund for the inclusion of people with disabilities for the implementation of interventions in the field of autism has been postponed to December 31, 2025.

The Council, then, having noted that the social territorial area of ​​Amantea has not complied with some provisions of Regulation no. 22/2019, with a second act proposed by Councilor Capponi, has placed the area under special administration, appointing a commissioner ad acta.

Furthermore, on the indication of the Councilor for Economic Development, Rosario Varì, the Guidelines containing the priority areas and the operating methods for identifying interventions for the enhancement and recovery of cultural heritage in Calabria, using Fsc 2021/2027 resources, were approved. With the same act, the Regional Department is entrusted with the adoption of all the necessary acts to implement the strategic programs envisaged by the Guidelines.

The Council then approved other deliberative acts of the Councilor for Agriculture and Transport, Gianluca Gallo.

The update of the Investment Plan for the purchase of rolling stock for railway services on the Trenitalia national network has been approved. 10 new trains will be purchased: 7 Blues trains, multi-fuel electric trains (trimodal) and 3 fully electric Pop trains. With the arrival of these trains, in just five years the total replacement of trains in Calabria will be completed.

The selection criteria for interventions to promote the agri-food sector on national and international markets have also been established.

Finally, Sergio De Felice was appointed new liquidator of the Regional Forestry Agency (Afor).
