“Comparison, dialogue and prospects for active labor policies within the Regional Plan for Labor Priority 4 ‘A Calabria with more opportunities’ and ‘A more inclusive Calabria for young people’. Our goal is to plan and build together the future of Calabria and the Calabrians”.

The regional councilor said it John Calabrese during the meeting, in Cittadella in Catanzaro, of the Work Table, during which, together with the Director General of the Department, Fortunato Varone, the Work Plan and the intervention measures were illustrated, as well as the existing notices and the programming of the Employment Plan with a series of measures on active policies for work with the 2021/2027 programming cycle.

“By August – stated the regional councillor for Labour Calabrese – the employment plan will be approved with an investment of approximately 200 million euros. The Regional Plan for Active Labor and Skills Policies for the period 2023-2027 is a strategic planning tool to guide the use of resources made available. Through the activities envisaged in the Plan, the Regional Administration intends to promote, on the one hand, the increase in quality employment for young people and women, and, on the other, to support structural interventions to give new impetus to work and the economy of the region”.

“The Plan – continued the member of the Occhiuto Council -, developed with the support of the Regional Department for Programming, defines a series of operations on incentives for self-entrepreneurship, employment incentives, training and skills, employment services, integrated work and territory project. It also intends to promote measures against undeclared work, to improve access to the labor market and employment for the unemployed, to support female employment, to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship and the social economy. It is estimated to involve over 10 thousand recipients among the unemployed, young people, women and disadvantaged workers”.

“Our goal – concluded Councilor Calabrese – is to build together the future of Calabria and the Calabrians in terms of employment policies. This is why the table was created, to discuss, improve and intervene on the measures in an efficient and adequate manner. We have a goal to reach and that is to reduce the unemployment rate by creating real employment”.

The meeting was attended by the president and director of Unindustria Calabria, Aldo Ferrara and Dario Lamanna respectively, and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce, Inps, Inail, Anpal, Labour Consultants, the Regional School Office, the Office of the Equal Opportunity Advisor and all the trade union organisations and the various employer categories.
