The reform of the Calabrian Statute to implement the new national legislation and expand the regional council to 9 councilors was immediately in the Chamber. The line dictated by governor Roberto Occhiuto brings everyone in agreement in the center-right. And so, in all likelihood, the legislative change will find space on the agenda of the next meeting at Palazzo Campanella, probably scheduled for Thursday 20 November. A preferential lane necessary to take to calm the discontent following the designation of the first councilors and to give that idea of collegiality in administrative action repeatedly hoped for during the electoral campaign by Occhiuto himself.
On the other hand, the reformed president himself has repeatedly indicated November as the most suitable electoral deadline to begin the process of bringing the Executive to nine elements. According to article 58 of the Statute, the amendment text requires two readings, with a minimum interval of two months between first and second approval, by absolute majority. The numbers to complete the political operation are all on the side of a centre-right which in Palazzo Campanella can count on 20 elected representatives in addition to the president of the council.
