The pre-information notice has already been published by the Sicilian Region with indication of the tender for the fast summer maritime connection from the port of Capo d’Orlando to the Aeolian Islands. Not even the time to decide politically, that the General Management of the Department of Infrastructure and Mobility starts the process for the expression of interest to win the concession, so as to be able to guarantee the service since this summer. A summer halved, however, because the technical times for the performance of the race will blow the month of June, so much so that the scheduled date of the start of the connection for this year is July 11, while for the following it will be June 15.
The duration of the concession will be three years, for a total of 93 days a year, with limited travel to about 3200 marine miles with a round -trip race for Vulcano, Lipari, and Santa Marina di Salina. The service will end on September 28 in this 2025, while on September 14 the following years. The deadline for receiving applications for participation is next June 10th.
