There’s a bit of Sicily in it «They killed Spider-Man – The legendary story of the 883»which, after its success on Sky, is available for streaming on Now (and on Sky on demand) with all the episodes. In addition to the original soundtrack by Catania’s Santi Pulvirenti (“At war for love”, “The investigations of Lolita Lobosco”), the acclaimed Sydney series Sibilia produced by Greenlandia and Sky Studios – story of Max Pezzali (Elia Nuzzolo) and Mauro Repetto (Matteo Oscar Giuggioli), who from the province of Pavia reached the Olympus of music, forming 883 – also featuring the actor from Alcamo in the cast Carlo Palmeri in the role of Rosario Fiorello.
Thirty-one years old, already the protagonist of the film «Lockdown» and in the cast of the Rai fiction «Marconi – The man who connected the world», Palmeri plays the showman from Catania during the period in which he was Max and Mauro’s roommate in Milan. «He is the Fiorello of pre-“Karaoke”, but already grappling with some important experiences – he tells us -. As spectators we know what he did next, but not what he did before; therefore experiencing it in this little-known dimension allows us to discover new aspects of the person and the character. In the series he is a nice boy who tries to encourage Max and Mauro to do better and better in music, because he is very positive and also a bit loud». An entertainment professional whose personal story is very similar to that of Pezzali and Repetto.
«Fiorello also came from the province and in fact “They Killed Spider-Man” tells the story of kids who, starting from small businesses, managed to make their dreams come true. I believe this is the strong point that contributed to the success of the series.”
The preparation for the role was intense, through the viewing of various videos on the web: «For 5 months I studied his movements, his way of speaking and relating to people. All peculiarities that have made Fiorello the showman of today. I also focused on the accent, because I am from Trapani and he is from Catania. In the early years you could feel its origins, albeit with some Milanese influence that recalled the clean inflection of today. His versatility made the preparation complex and of great responsibility, but very satisfying.”
Palmeri will be at the cinema as the protagonist of the gangster movie «The forgotten man» by Samuel Di Marzofilmed between Alcamo, Balata di Baida, Scopello, Castellamare del Golfo and Palermo. «I play Tanino, a poor boy from the Sicilian hinterland who loses them every time he becomes attached to a person. Throughout the story he will try to take his revenge.” The film will be released in theaters in February 2025.
