A violent aggression occurred within the detention department of the Vercelli hospital, where a 43 -year -old, originally from Sibariprison police officer, was brutally affected by a North African prisoner while carrying out the surveillance turn. The man would have attacked Alfano suddenly and aggressively, after the agent had granted him the exit from the room to go to the bathroom. According to reports, the aggression would have occurred to the cry of “Allah Akbar”phrase that appeared as a reference to the staff present in the department. Alfano’s colleagues who were nearby were immediately intervened, avoiding worse consequences. The agent Sibarita reported fractures for which it was necessary to provide for the engineering, a prescription of use of the collar in addition to 30 days of prognosis. From all over Italy a caravan of solidarity has moved for the agent Sibarita condemning these gestures which demonstrate from some the total refusal of the democratic rules. To report the growing danger within the institutes is also Donato Capece, Secretary General of Sappe, who reiterates the radicalization alarm: “Prisons, accomplices overcrowding and degradation, risk becoming fertile ground for fundamentalist proselytism. It is not only violence, but threats that touch national security.” The attack suffered by Alfano reports in the foreground the delicate issue of security within the penitentiary departments and the need for a concrete plan to prevent violence and radicalization.
