He passed away on his birthday. The community of Cassano all’Ionio is in shock over the passing of Luigi Zumpano, 42 years old, known and loved because he was “everyone’s friend”. The prayers that the people of Cassano raised to heaven after the tragic accident which occurred on Friday shortly after 1.30pm were of no avail. After hours of struggle between life and death, Luigi passed away in the evening at the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza, where he was hospitalized in intensive care. The news spread quickly, leaving a community shocked and speechless. Zumpano leaves behind a wife and two children.
