The State Police, with personnel from the PS Commissariat of Castrovillariemployed in the territorial control services arranged by the police commissioner of the province of Cosenza Giuseppe Cannizzaro, intervened yesterday evening at the Castrovillari bus station where she had been reported the presence of a 27-year-old man, already known to the police, who, in an evident state of intoxication and agitation, was destroying the furnishings of the bar located inside.
The state police operators intervened promptly on the spot and patiently tried to bring the man back to calm, with repeated interventions aimed at reassuring him, but with negative results. The latter, despite the invitation to behave appropriately and therefore to calm down, began to rant towards the police officers, using insults and insults, adopting a threatening and violent attitude and lashing out at them.
Faced with this scenario, one of the policemen, equipped with a taser, resorted to using it, thus managing to block the agitated man, without however causing him any damage. Once the formalities had been completed, the man was arrested and placed in the Castrovillari prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
All this is communicated in compliance with the rights of the suspect (to be considered presumed innocent in consideration of the current phase of the proceedings until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence) in order to guarantee the right to freedom of the press.
