“More than a year and a half to reactivate the PET-CT service of the “Pugliese-Ciaccio” facility in Catanzaro, suspended since August 2022 following the entry into force of a national regulation. A long, long time for those who wait for an early diagnosis to intervene promptly in the management of the disease. The reactivation, announced in recent days by the leaders of the “Dulbecco” university hospital company, is positive news, but it is not enough: we must take action to make up for the delays that have accumulated to the detriment of patients and their families with an extraordinary plan that reduces waiting lists”. This is what the regional councilor of the Democratic Party, vice president of the Health Commission, says. Amalia Bruni.
“The PET-CT on a mobile vehicle, which until 2022 carried out services for over a decade in the equipped spaces of the “Ciaccio-De Lellis” hospital, had been suspended due to the constraints imposed by Legislative Decree 101/2020 – he explains councilor Bruni -. A regulatory change that saw too slow bureaucratic steps between the Catanzaro provincial health authority and the authorization commissions. In recent months I have requested and chaired several meetings with the various commissioners of the ASP and the “Dulbecco”, affected by patients and operators, worried by the stalemate situation that had been created. Thanks go to the Extraordinary Commissioner of the AOU “Dulbecco”, Simona Carbonefor having been strongly determined in resolving existing problems, in this case of a bureaucratic nature which in too many situations continue to jeopardize the right of Calabrian citizens to be treated at home”.
