Emotions and applause at the “Nicola Ceravolo” where, on the occasion of the Serie B Catanzaro-Cesena match, a moment of great sporting and social value was experienced. Before kick-off, the President of US Catanzaro 1929 ing. Floriano Noto awarded Noemi Canino, swimming champion at the 2025 Deaflympics which took place in Tokyo, paying homage to her in front of the large Giallorossi audience.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the ENS Regional President cav. Antonio Mirijello, and with live television on DAZN. In the stands, over 12 thousand spectators welcomed Noemi with long and warm applause, transforming the stadium into a symbol of inclusion, pride and participation.
During the event, Noemi Canino donated the Deaflympics mascot Yurito to President Noto, while President Mirijello donated the ENS Calabria pennant to the football club, as thanks for their sensitivity towards deaf people.
The gesture of President Floriano Noto, recognized for his availability and attention to human and social values, represented a strong message of inclusion and respect, going beyond the sporting result and enhancing the commitment, determination and successes of an athlete who carries the name of Italy and Calabria high.
