The season definitively in the archive leaves numbers and moments to pass on. The sixth place in the championship, the victory in the preliminary round of the playoffs and access to the semifinals for the second consecutive year are obviously the most important data: the results end in the almanacs, but there is also much more, starting with the number of defeats collected by the Catanzaro of Fabio Caserta, just seven in the regular season. In the B-a-team tournaments, the Giallorossi had suffered one less, so you are in everything, only in 1974-75 and 1987-88.
As for the challenges that have left a positive mark, for one reason or another, there are four that weighed more than others on the collective level. The first was the turn of the turning point, the 1-1 tie in Bari on 18 October, which allowed the eagles to turn on the light after a stunted start. There the Giallorossi reiterated an appearance that became a constant, namely that once below the Iemmello score and members would often have been able to react: it is no coincidence that they obtained 17 points from disadvantage situations, better than all together in La Spezia. At the “San Nicola” Caserta had the signal that the road was right: change of module (from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2), the idea of raising Scognamillo to increase the outgoing outlets and a great second half with the equal of the captain and some failed opportunity that would have allowed the bang.
