The restitution of over 404 thousand euros from the 2016 and 2018 years of the “After Us” fund continues to shake Palazzo De Nobili and fuel a political clash. In the last few hours, a new attack has arrived signed by twelve minority representatives (Talerico, Veraldi, Parisi, Levato, Sergio Costanzo, Manuela Costanzo, Laudadio, Costa, Lobello, Passafaro, Assisi and Donato) who accuse the majority and mayor Fiorita of “a clumsy political recovery operation” after having been “exposed on the loss of fundamental resources intended for people with serious disabilities without family support”.
The meetings called by the administration “after the fact, in silence and without cross-examination” end up in the crosshairs, considered by the opposition not as an attempt at a solution, but as a defensive management of the matter. «The affected people are met, but the complainants are deliberately excluded. We try to put a patch on it, but we carefully avoid talking about faults”, write the councilors. Hence the request for an urgent city council with a single point on the agenda: “Convening meetings after the fact does not erase responsibilities, does not restore lost funds and above all does not restore confidence in families”, is the final accusation.
The municipal councilor for social policies, Nunzio Belcaro, responded to the note, reiterating a line already expressed in recent days, but broadening its political and cultural perimeter.
