Catanzaro wins the ninth place in the national ranking of the climate index 2025, published by the Sole 24 Ore, and is confirmed in the top ten Italian cities for climatic quality.
“A result of which we are proud – declares the deputy mayor Giusy Iemma– which rewards the extraordinary natural characteristics of our city and encourages us to aim with determination to the top of the ranking. “
The positioning reflects favorable environmental conditions: a mild climate influenced by the sea, an excellent air quality thanks to wind and nearby mountains, an optimal heat index and numerous sunny days.
But recognition is not only thanks to nature. It is also the result of a commitment shared between institutions and citizens, with which we have built a path oriented towards sustainability and enhancement of the territory.
As a municipal administration we reiterate our commitment to continue and strengthen environmental policies, to focus on sustainable mobility and urban regeneration. As evidenced by the adoption of the municipal structural plan (PSC) and the urban plan of sustainable mobility (Pums), which places us among the first cities to have adopted it; The path started about two years ago with the obtaining of the Blue Flag, which has been enriched with environmental education projects developed in collaboration with schools-such as the Eco-Schools program, which earned the green flag to the city institutes-and the recent adhesion to the Italian network of healthy cities. We will continue to work so that Catanzaro is increasingly livable, welcoming and attractive for citizens, tourists and businesses “, concludes Giusy Iemma.
