Cassandro and Di Francesco could at least be included in the squad for the match against Entella, increasing Aquilani’s options. The less certain of the two is the defender, who would be particularly important for the situation in which Catanzaro’s back pack finds itself, reduced to the bare bones between technical motivations and adaptations that are not bringing benefits: in the first case Bettella has slipped almost to the bottom of the rotations of the department, in the second Di Chiara does not function as a left centre-back, being better as a winger.
One player alone can’t shift the balance who knows how much, but Cassandro as a right-back proved to be among the best in the three matches he played in that role, as a starter, before getting hurt 10′ of the first half against Empoli. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the Giallorossi won those three matches against Palermo, Mantua and Venezia.
