The local police of Catanzaro crack down on water waste and theft in the municipal area. In order to regulate the correct and economical use of water, Mayor Fiorita has ordered that, until September 1st, it is permitted exclusively for normal food, domestic and health purposes, or for all regularly authorized activities.
In particular Only irrigation and watering of vegetable gardens, gardens and lawns with a maximum area of 20 m2 is permitted between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; washing of private courtyard areas and squares is prohibited between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.; washing of private vehicles is prohibited, with the exception of that carried out by authorized facilities; filling of swimming pools, both public and private, is permitted only with the prior authorization of the municipal sector that manages the water supply network; with regard to municipal sports areas under concession, the ban is in place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; watering and irrigation of grassy sports fields is excluded from the application of the ordinance.
The local police will continue to carry out the necessary checks on the municipal territory and invites citizens to report any abuses or illicit use of water in the summer season when it is necessary, even more, to rationalize the water service.
