One year since passing of Benito Scarfone, tomorrow a Holy Mass while Friday 2 February dedication of the Provincial Secretariat of the Fsp State Police Union in the presence of the Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani and the Undersecretary Wanda Ferro. The National Secretary of FSP Police Brugnano: “Benito is not a memory, he is not a photo, he is not just a name, but he has become and will always be an example to follow”.
“When a policeman leaves us, the man disappears in everyday life but in everyday life the ideas and teachings of those who are no longer there remain. And it is like this, a year later, for Benito Scarfone.” He says it Giuseppe Brugnano, National Secretary of the FSP State Police Union, one year after the death of Benito Scarfone, retired policeman and first-time trade unionist in the State Police. “Son of art, as his father belonged to the National Highway Guard Public Security Militia, Benito – says Brugnano – honored not only the uniform he wore since 1969, but fought as a trade unionist to defend the rights of policemen until the last day. Always on the same side, always hard-nosed when it came to defending rights, always ready to mediate with the respect due to the administration of which he was part.
And one year later – continues the National Secretary of the FSP State Police – Benito is not a memory, he is not a photo, he is not just a name, but he has become and will forever be an example to follow.” Tomorrow there will be a celebration Mass in the parish of Giovino, in the Lido district of Catanzaro, at 6.00 pm one year after his death, but above all on February 2nd the name of Benito Scarfone will be linked forever to his trade union activity and to the Catanzaro police station with the significant ” dedication” of the headquarters of the Provincial Secretariat of the FSP State Police in the presence of the Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani and the Undersecretary Wanda Ferro. The “dedication” event will be preceded by a moment of reflection in memory of Benito Scarfone, within the Conference Room of the State Police Multipurpose Centre, starting at 11.00, which will see greetings from the Provincial General Secretary of the FSP Union Rocco Morelli, speeches from the General Secretary of the Union Valter Mazzetti, from the Catanzaro Police Commissioner Paolo Sirna, from the Chief of Police the Prefect Vittorio Pisani. The conclusions will be entrusted to the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior, the Honorable Wanda Ferro, while the vice President of the Union Franco Maccari will moderate the meeting.
