«Chiaravalle Centrale, on this day of mourning – states the mayor of the town Domenico Donato, nephew of the deceased politician – gathers around the memory of a man who profoundly marked not only the political and cultural history of our city but also of Catanzaro and all of Calabria: Angelo Donato. Today he left us, a void that will be difficult to fill. His political career, dotted with important successes and prestigious roles, is inextricably intertwined with my personal life. Angelo, in addition to being a prominent figure in Italian politics, was my uncle.”
«As difficult as it is to separate the institutional role from family affection – concludes the mayor – in this moment of pain, I prefer to remember him simply as Uncle Angelo, the man who, with his example, marked my life and that of many others”.
