The words of Caserta
“These are games where you try to try something different, you try to give everyone some playing time. Defeats like this make you understand how difficult it is not to approach all games with the right attitude, whether they are friendlies or league matches. It’s better that some of our limitations come out now. The team trained well throughout the retreat and so you could also feel the workload. We need to correct the mistakes made today, but there was a problem with the approach to the game.” This is how coach Fabio Caserta commented on today’s friendly, which closes the Eagles’ retreat in Valle D’Aosta: “I’m really satisfied with how the retreat went – added the Giallorossi coach – because I found a group that was truly predisposed to work. I’m very happy with what everyone did, both the old and the new, both in terms of behavior and willingness to work. During this pre-season phase I was able to try out different solutions both tactically and in terms of the game system in general. This is because I can count on a roster of versatile players, also thanks to the director’s ability to identify players capable of interpreting multiple game systems, which is a very important thing”. Asked by journalists at the end of the match, mister Caserta also commented on the transfer market phase: “I’m also happy with the transfer market because the club is moving very well, it’s trying to fill the spaces that are still empty in terms of numbers. I’m very calm because the club is doing everything it can to arrive with the most complete group possible before the start of the championship, in a difficult transfer market context. We have lost some important players who did very well in the cycle that just ended, but I’m very happy with the club’s work, because I know how it is working and I know that other players will arrive who will be useful to the team on a tactical level. As I have said in the past, having already worked with the ds Polito and having a club behind us that leaves nothing to chance, but tries to shore up the team with the elements that are missing, I feel calm and happy with what is being done”.
