The green light has arrived from the City Council for the Industrial Plan of Catanzaro Servizi. The civic assembly deliberated with 19 votes in favor, 2 abstentions and 2 against the approval of the document produced by the management of the municipal company.
As was to be expected, there was no shortage of criticism of the document, especially from Gianni Parisi (Action): «There is nothing written in the plan, it is an unrealizable dream book. It is a declaration of death of the company. Whoever votes for the industrial plan is a raving madman: next year you will see that I was right. It is throwing 126 families of workers into the abyss»
The mayor had contextualised the plan in the broader overall redevelopment work of Catanzaro Servizi at the opening of the session Nicholas Flowery: «Today is a very important moment in the path we are taking to secure and then relaunch our subsidiary. There is no doubt that it arrives with a certain delay on the expected path, but this demonstrates the complexity of the path but also the value of the dialogue with the company’s top management. We have said in this assembly and to the workers that addressing the many issues that have represented a burden in recent years required a complex strategy, composed of a series of interlocking actions. Even with different times than those desired, bringing this industrial plan for approval today closes a first phase of securing the company. Once the industrial plan is approved, it will be necessary and inevitable to open a second phase, not short but not long either, which will have to verify the economic stability of the industrial plan itself».
The important practice also concerns the future of 126 workers However, it was overshadowed by the debate in the chamber which had as its object the tender withdrawn by the Council shortly before the start of the session regarding the assignment of waste collection and street cleaning services.
