With a climate of profound devotion and participation, the parish community of San Pio X welcomed the pilgrim image of the Madonna of Porto, patron saint of the Province of Catanzaro. The welcome moment was led by Mgr. Francesco Isabello, Episcopal Vicar, who introduced the faithful to an intense Marian Week entitled “Our hope, hello. Our Lady of Porto visits our communities”.

The sacred image, a faithful copy of the original kept in the Mother Church of Gimigliano, coming from the Sanctuary of Porto, will remain throughout the week in the parish of San Pio

The days will be marked by the Holy Rosary and the Holy Mass presided over by the parish priests of the participating communities: a journey of faith and communion that intends to rediscover the maternal presence of Mary as a sign of hope and consolation for the people of God.

Marian Week will end on Saturday 18 October, when in the afternoon the image will be brought back to the Sanctuary of Porto. At 4.30 pm the solemn Holy Mass will be held in memory of the origins of the Sanctuary, presided over by Msgr. Isabello, which will be attended by the faithful of the parishes visited, the children of the catechism class and the pilgrims.

An event of faith and people that renews the deep bond between Catanzaro and its Madonna of Porto, Mother of Hope and guardian of families.
