A question and answer between Stefano Cirillo, regional secretary of the Christian Democracyand the Honorable Gianfranco Miccichè.
“I read with amazement the declarations of the Honorable Miccichè, who sets himself up as a moralizer of Sicilian politics by talking about the Christian Democracy and threatening to ask President Lombardo to leave the Government if our political force were to continue to be part of it”, declared Cirillo, recalling in a polemical tone “the evangelical passage according to which he who is without sin should cast the first stone”.

The regional secretary of the DC invited Miccichè to “pay attention to which stone he intends to throw”, recalling that “in the past, when he himself was the subject of judicial investigations, no one asked for his party to leave the Government”.

Cirillo then defended the party line: «Individual responsibilities remain such and cannot fall on an entire ruling class that works with seriousness and transparency. Generalizing and discrediting the Christian Democracy is a sign of political shortsightedness.”

Finally, he announced the request for a meeting with the President of the Region Renato Schifani to represent the official position of the party and “reaffirm the desire to contribute to the good governance of Sicily, respecting the institutions and citizens”.
