Confimprendatori Messina expresses a critical position regarding the ordinance signed by the mayor of Milazzo, Pippo Midili, relating to the regulation of sound emissions and the sale of alcoholic and super -cacity drinks and asks for immediate retreat.

While sharing on the merits the need to contrast decision by fighting, acts of vandalism and any form of Malamovida, we believe that the method chosen by theMunicipal administration is wrong in times, content and effects. For these reasons we ask for the Urgent convocation of a technical table with all the trade associations, in order to identify together balanced, concrete and shared solutions.

Solutions that know how to counter the episodes of Malamovida without criminalizing the entire sector of catering, entertainment and tourism, which represents a fundamental resource for the city. Use of the restrictions without a real prevention and control of the territory in fact risks unjustly affect the silent majority of citizens, entrepreneurs and respectable tourists who contribute every day to the life and economy of the city.

Milazzo is a pearl of Sicilian tourism and as such must be enhanced, not harnessed in rules that transmit an image of insecurity and closure outside.

What we ask ourselves is: does this order want to identify Milazzo as a tourist city or as a city that gives up being? Because limiting the time of music and prohibiting the sale of alcohol starting from 20:30 in supermarkets and vending machines may appear as a simple response, but it is not a structural or effective solution in the long run. We consider it a wrong signal, which risks removing visitors, discouraging initiatives and compromising the economic vitality of a territory that instead has all the potential for being an attractive, alive and safe pole.

We believe that the real response to degradation and violence is a greater presence of law enforcement agencies in the area, The extension of video surveillance in the most critical points of the city, and coordinated prevention and control initiatives with economic operators, managers of the premises and trade associations. The constant presence of law enforcement agencies also need, among the people, in the places of nightlife, in the squares, in the alleys. For this reason, we formally ask for a meeting with the Mayor and the competent councilor, immediately offering our willingness to collaborate in the definition of alternative solutions, effective in protecting security but also respectful of the freedom and tourist vocation of the city.

The entire economy of fun and sociality on the altar of indiscriminate repression cannot be sacrificed. Those who delinque must be punished, but those who work honestly and those who simply want to enjoy a summer evening must be supported. Confimprendatori Messina is ready to do its part for a safe, lively, welcoming Milazzo.
