«With the initiative promoted by the European Conservatives, the paradigm that imagined a whiny, hat-in-hand South towards Europe has been overturned».
This is what the MEP from Fratelli d’Italia declared Denis Nescipromoter of the three days in Calabria, at the conclusion of a convention which saw the participation of over 800 delegates, of which almost 200 coming from 14 different countries.
«We have succeeded in our aim of moving the discussion on major European issues to Calabria, which previously seemed to have been separated by sidereal distances from the large European political families, who have the task of building an agenda that takes into account the peripheral areas of our continent, and which preserve the identity of a Europe of peoples, whose common path is still in progress.”
«But while someone, a few kilometers away, was struggling to find minimalist and welfare solutions – underlines Nesci, referring to the words of Elly Schlein during the regional party of the Democratic Party in Vibo Valentia – the European Conservatives, between Villa San Giovanni and Scilla, not only created a moment of political proposal, but reaffirmed that vision that animates Giorgia Meloni’s government action on the issues that concern the South and the heart of the Mediterranean, such as infrastructure, transport, commercial logistics, the sea economy, sustainable agriculture that does not penalize territories and the assets that govern it, but above all the relaunch of employment through the strengthening of these strategic sectors as a model to follow in the coming years.”
