The local office, which will be housed in the former city court, was inaugurated yesterday morning. It is a tool that intends to shorten the distances between citizens and the court in all those proceedings that do not require the presence of a lawyer. It is not lost on us that the occasion also represented a moment to talk about the battle for the reopening of the court, with Mayor Stasi speaking of “political will”, since if in the past it was political will that decreed its closure, today more than ever we need to be clear whether there is a political will to reopen it. In addition to the mayor, the councilor for the transparent and efficient city, Mauro Mitidieri, the councilor for the city of solidarity and heritage enhancement, Marinella Grillo, and municipal officials were also present at the inauguration. «The revision of the districts has led to an increase in costs for users who until now had to go to the Castrovillari court also for the release of a criminal record or a pending charge. Councilor Grillo declared. Today, thanks to this desk, which does not represent a simple paper-passing office – as it has been defined several times – but a real service to citizens, all this will be facilitated and offered in the premises of the former Rossano Court”. «It is obvious – insisted Mitidieri – that thoughts also turn to the closure of the former Court which offered much more complex answers. The competence of this office is limited to some matters, mainly to voluntary jurisdiction, but whenever the bodies are close to citizens offering concrete answers this must be underlined”.
