There is a common thread that unites Papanice to Cirò Marina. A criminal connection discovered in 2023 with the “Glicine Acheronte” investigation and now confirmed by the “Saulo” operation of the Catanzaro DDA. The blitz, which began on Tuesday with 21 precautionary measures carried out by the Crotone carabinieri, would in fact have reaffirmed the existing link between the gang directed by the boss Mico Megna, and the top exponents of the Farao-Marincola clan of Cirò. A sort of ‘ndrangheta federation which on the one hand would have led the “papaniciari” to extort entrepreneurs by spending their relationships with the “cirotani”. And on the other hand it would have pushed the affiliates of the Farao-Marincola to try to impose the security managed by the Megnas on the summer nightlife venues of Cirò Marina.
