The Court of Review of Turin declared inadmissible the appeal of the Aosta prosecutor’s office against the order of the investigating judge who, last summer, had denied the request for precautionary measures against seven suspects in a proceeding on alleged corruption for the assignment and execution of the works of the Entrèves tunnel, of the Mont Blanc tunnel, in Courmayeur (Aosta).
The precautionary measures were requested from the investigating judge of Aosta against: Oreste Pizzetti, former employee of the Italian tunneling company of Mont Blanc (Sitmb), aged 47 from Legnano (Milan); the building entrepreneurs Pasquale Liporace, 54 years old from Courmayeur, Nicola Liporace, 24 years old from Courmayeur and Rosario Liporace, 53 years old, from Cosenza; the directors of the company Ng Strade srl Antonella Bortone and Bruno Bortone, aged 37 and 50 both from the province of Caserta, and Massimiliano Opramolla, aged 56 from Sesto San Giovanni (Milan).
The prosecutor subsequently renounced six out of seven positions and for the week the Review declared the appeal inadmissible. The types of crime, for various reasons, include corruption for an act contrary to official duties, money laundering, revelation of official secrets and tax crimes. Various types of precautionary measures had been requested, from house arrest to interdictory measures. The investigations were carried out by the Carabinieri and also concern the assignment of the maintenance of a parking area for heavy vehicles at the Mont Blanc Tunnel. The Italian Society for the Mont Blanc Tunnel and its president, Emily Rini, have announced that they will ask to become a civil party in the proceedings.
