Paola’s prosecutor asked for the acquittal for the new mayor of Cetraro Giuseppe Aieta. The preliminary hearing relating to the criminal proceeding that sees among the suspects the former regional councilor and new mayor elected in the last electoral round has taken place today in front of the gup of the Court of Paola. Aieta, defended by the lawyer Vincenzo Adamo, together with other suspects, is accused of a series of corruption hypotheses, relating to the period in which he performed the function of regional councilor. Today’s hearing was dedicated to the dissolution of the reserve on preliminary issues raised by the defense and conclusions of the public prosecution, represented in the classroom by the chief prosecutor of Paola, Domenico Fiordalisi. The Prosecutor asked for the acquittal for “non -existence of the fact” for all crimes contested in Aieta and others. The public accusation also referred to the sentence issued by the Cassation in which “an evidentiary deficit” was highlighted in the investigation. On 10 October the word passes to the defensive college. According to the accusation, Aieta would have promised hiring and committed acts contrary to office duties in exchange for the votes for the regional of 2020.
