A very sad day for Cosenza football. The Rossoblù are mourning the passing of Sergio Codognato, born in 1944. A former Inter player in Serie A in the 1962-63 season, he then played in the top flight with Catania. He played for several years in Serie B with Alessandria, Salernitana and Modena, and in Serie C with various clubs. Between 1970 and 1977, in particular, Codognato was captain of Cosenza, playing 217 games and becoming an iconic figure for the team, also known for his dangerous set pieces. In Trentino he is remembered above all as a coach: in the 1970s he coached Cosenza, then Calcio Trento, later taking care of the team’s youth sector.
