The Democratic Party’s appeal to vote. But also the invitation to citizens to be protagonists of change. A few hours before the electoral consultation for the referendum on single municipality between Cosenza, Rende and Castroliberothe Democratic Party intended to raise awareness about participation in Sunday’s polls and reiterate the reasons for the “Yes” to the institutional synthesis.
He did it yesterday morning in the Bruzia Federation of Democrats, during a press conference held by the provincial secretary, Vittorio Pecoraro and by the former parliamentarian Giacomo Mancinias coordinator of the “Yes” committees. Pecoraro, criticizing at the beginning of the proceedings those who “spread false news” and criticizing “the exasperated tones” used during these weeks, highlighted a concept: “We are not conducting an electoral campaign to choose the mayor of Rende or prepare to some imminent appointment with the polls”. Explaining, therefore, the reasons that pushed the Democratic Party and, in general, a large part of the center-left, to support the single city project, the secretary underlined: «No member has expressed any contrary decisions». Convinced of the positive effects that the merger process will bring to the entire territory, Mancini showed no doubts in this sense: «This is an opportunity not to be wasted». The former parliamentarian spoke of a “city of the third millennium”, dismantling the arguments of “those who want to continue cultivating their own backyard”.
