Many children and others responded yesterday to the “Wolves at the store” proposed by Cosenza. In via Arabia, they introduced themselves Simone Mazzocchi, Idriz Voca and Manuel Marras. The three – who stayed for more than an hour to satisfy all requests – were “mobbed” by around 300 fans, hunting for photos and autographs. During the stay of the three pawns from Caserta it was possible to taste local bread and oil. As was easy to suspect, there were many “thoughts” turned to the derby with Catanzaro, scheduled after the break.
The march towards the most heartfelt race of the year has already begun. But this too was abundantly known to everyone. Among the fans, then, there were those who made Mazzocchi smile with an ad hoc request: “Please, I want a goal from you after the ninetieth.” Number thirty smiled and replied that “doing it first wouldn’t be bad anyway”.
The player who arrived from Atalanta in the summer, although recently on the banks of the Crati, is already fully aware of the importance of the next match: «For our part, we will do our best. We’ve been talking about the derby for a long time, the rivalry is heated. Since I arrived here, the fans have always focused on this topic. We are preparing well to face the race in the best way. We will take to the field without fear with the knowledge that three points in this match would give great enthusiasm.”
Manuel Marras’ words are on the same wavelength: «I know well what it means to play such a special match. I was born in Genoa, a city where there is an equally heated rivalry. Football has taught me that challenges like these give the same number of points as the others but we know very well that it has a very particular flavor and therefore we are approaching the commitment with great seriousness. The results so far are positive. Since my arrival in January of the last championship, the team has been following a positive trend that I hope it can maintain.”
Idriz Voca, who let out a «Jamu Lupi» in Cosenza dialect, launched the challenge: «We want to play well and bring home the three points. I am at the coach’s disposal and therefore I am willing to play in any position he deems appropriate. Furthermore, by playing as an attacking midfielder I have more opportunities to score goals and in light of this I managed to materialize some chances.”
Fontanarosa and Zuccon in blue. Alessandro Fontanarosa took to the pitch as a starter in the convincing victory for Italy Under 20 at the “Keepmoat” stadium in Doncaster. Bollini’s Azzurri won 3-0 over England of the same age in the Elite League (Missori and a brace from Hasa). The Inter-owned centre-back, who had already found space in previous matches, lined up in the center of the defensive department, helping to keep the goal undefeated. The defender from Campania remained on the pitch for 90 minutes. During the second half, Bollini also gave space to Federico Zuccon. The midfielder came on in place of Milanese in the last half hour. The Azzurrini will return to the field on Tuesday at 2pm against Portugal at the “Ricci” in Sassuolo.
