The City Council, on the proposal of the Councilor for Public Works Rossella Parise, approved the executive project for the construction of a new roof for the E. Codignola school in via XXV Aprile.

The intervention involves a total investment of 176,266.71 euros.

The project concerns the construction of a pitched metal roof, consisting of a structure made of reticular beams and insulated panels in corrugated sheet metal.

In detail, the work will include: the main structure in trusses made with double “L” profiles 60x60x6 mm, welded according to the design documents to guarantee resistance to the expected loads.

And also the secondary support structure for the panels, made up of omega-type metal profiles 120x50x3 mm, laid orthogonally to the main structure with a pitch of approximately 1.5 m.

And again: gutters, flashings and ridges in pre-painted sheet metal, carefully anchored, riveted and sealed and downspouts in pre-painted sheet metal with curves and special pieces.

In addition to the main roof, the project also includes: the construction of the roof of the toilet rooms, using a metal support structure (80×80 mm and 40×40 mm profiles) and covering in panels of the same type as the main roof, the replacement of the window frames of the toilets in Block A–C, with new PVC frames, the supply and installation of a certified “Lifeline” fall arrest device, to guarantee safety during future maintenance.

This is an important intervention to improve the functionality and safety of the school building which will guarantee better protection from atmospheric agents and greater durability of the structures.
