CISL Magna Grecia, with the general secretary Daniele Gualtieri, the FP Cisl Magna Grecia, with the general secretary Antonino d’Aloi, and the Cisl Medici Magna Grecia, with the general secretary Luciana Carolei, express Full solidarity with the doctors and the nurse attacked at the emergency room of the “Giovanni Paolo II” hospital in Lamezia Termeincluding some Cuban professionals who operate in our region. A very serious episode, which strongly proposes the theme of security in hospital principals and, in particular, in the emergency room.

“It is unacceptable – explain Gualtieri, D’Aloi and Carolei – that those who work daily to save human lives must operate in risk conditions for their safety. It is necessary to urgently reduce pressure and voltage situations, first of all by increasing staff staff, and strengthening safety principals, exceeding the logic, unfortunately still widespread, to rely exclusively to voluntary personnel. Army and professional vigilance are needed, in every emergency-urgency garrison, to ensure real protection for healthcare professionals and citizens ».

The CISL positively judges the news of the approval of the 2024 budget of the ASP of Catanzaro, which certifies a reduction of the indebtedness and an increase in the services offered, as evidenced also by the improvement of the activity of the Lamezia Terme hospital. A result that demonstrates how, although between a thousand difficulties, steps are taking place in the direction of a more efficient health service and close to citizens’ needs.

However, the union strongly reiterates that administrative normalization must accompany a concrete acceleration on priority issues, starting from the reduction of waiting lists, which continue to penalize access to care, and the strengthening of the staff, in particular in the areas most exposed to the pressure pressure.

«We cannot speak of the right to health – conclude Gualtieri, D’Aloi and Carolei – if accessibility, quality of care, but also safety are not guaranteed. Defending those who care, guarantee safe work environments, restore full dignity and efficiency to our health system: these must be the priorities for healthcare that really wants to be at the service of citizens, and in particular of the most fragile. On these themes, it is good to avoid any form of demagogy: rather must face problems with a spirit of dialogue, participation and shared responsibilities, because only in this way can serious and lasting solutions be built ».
