Once the celebrations are over, 2026 in politics and municipal administration continues with a “bang”, carrying the aftermath of the last municipal council. The last meeting of 2025, in fact, left its mark if only for the vote on the recognition of the debt on municipal solid waste towards the Calabria Region, a specific budget change – to place almost 4 million in debt in installments until 2030 – which the Murone Administration brought home with only 11 votes in favour. In fact, in addition to the regular vote against by the opposition (Bevilacqua group and the centre-left), there were three important abstentions from the majority benches, namely from the councilors Nicotera (the least surprising one, standing out, as a good centrist, as an increasingly isolated member compared to the more canonically right-wing parties), Cristiano and Villella.
The PD council group tried to seize the ball, which in a press note speaks of a «coalition in support of Mayor Murone that crumbled in a few months».
