The task will be given today to the technical consultants of the Castrovillari Prosecutor’s Office who will have to carry out the autopsy on the body of the man found on Saturday morning on the Cariati beach. As a preliminary act, the body was seized and is located in the morgue of the “Nicola Giannettasio” hospital in Rossano. The autopsy examination will serve to establish the time of death and, above all, the causes. From an initial external examination we think of death by drowning but this hypothesis will necessarily have to be confirmed by the examination of the internal organs.
The body, as you will remember, was found in the early hours of the morning on Saturday by a local person who came across that lifeless body while he was walking his dog. According to what has been learned, some parts of the body are unrecognizable due to the time spent in the water. The light complexion suggests that he comes from a European country. Among the paths that are being followed, the privileged one leads towards one of the many tragedies of the sea. Perhaps it is one of the many desperate people who died trying to reach the Italian coasts, aboard makeshift boats.
