Medical guards, areas lacking proximity medicine, criticality in the field of mental health. These are the themes that will be under consideration of the next meeting of the mayors of the Locride who should not delay being convened. In the session of the assembly of the first citizens of 28 March, in fact, the mayor of Siderno and member of the representation committee of the mayors at the ASP of Reggio Calabria, Mariateresa Fragomeni, presented the administrators a draft of a document containing proposals to face the lack of doctors and the critical issues in essential health services in the locride.
“The situation we live in our municipalities daily – said Mayor Fragomeni – is now almost unsustainable: clinics without doctors, closed medical guards or with reduced times, families who must travel tens of kilometers for a visit and a mental health assistance system that struggles to respond to growing needs”.
