Andrea Signorelli, leader of the opposition council group, speaks of a systemic crisis that affects the entire regional health sector which finds one of its most dramatic epicenters in the Tyrrhenian Sea of Cosenza. The Tyrrhenian dialysis area includes a vast basin – Paola, Praia a Mare, Cetraro and Amantea – with significant numbers and a constantly growing care load. «Yet, only two doctors guarantee the entire activity of the Paola center, who still manage to cover four shifts out of four, also managing afternoon and Saturday emergencies coming from the entire northern Tyrrhenian Sea, since the shifts remain closed in the upper Tyrrhenian district of Praia and Cetraro. The area followed today has around thirty patients on the waiting list for transplants: the highest number ever recorded. A commitment that goes far beyond what is due.”
