“Occhiuto must throw away the mask, enough with the play on differentiated autonomy. Enough with the pirouettes of the governor who must distance himself from this measure that will damage the South and in particular Calabria”. Nicholas Irtosenator of the Republic and Calabrian secretary of the Democratic Party, certainly does not mince his words and does not miss an opportunity to urge the president of the regional council, Roberto Occhiutoto take a clear position against the differentiated autonomy desired by the League and on which the governor himself did not fail to raise some doubts.
The latest provocation was yesterday afternoon when Irto chaired the meeting of the Democratic regional councillors, led by the group leader Mimmo Bevacqua, who welcomed the senator in Lamezia Alexander Alfieri, national manager for the reforms of the Democratic Party. “In Calabria – Irto reiterated – we follow the national line of the party. Next Monday we will meet all the forces that do not want differentiated autonomy. We are ready to collect signatures thanks to our organization rooted in the territory. Without forgetting – the Calabrian secretary of the Democrats insisted – that we have filed a provision at Palazzo Campanella to ask that the regional council challenge the law on differentiated autonomy. We ask Occhiuto to vote in favor of this provision if he wants to save face”.
