A 62-year-old man, Elvio Benvenuto, died this afternoon due to a serious fall from the roof of a building where he was reportedly working. It seems that the man was intent on carrying out some work, but he slipped and fell from a height of about six metres. Unfortunately, due to the serious injuries suffered, there was nothing that could be done for the 62-year-old.
In addition to the rescue operations, the police and firefighters from the Scalea detachment also intervened on site. The case is being investigated to understand what could have happened and whether the man who was carrying out some work on the roof lost his balance and fell to the ground as the first findings confirmed. The 62-year-old had recently married a girl from Cittadella del Capo. He leaves behind a little girl who is not even a year old. A real tragedy that shook the community, which happened near the railway yard, this afternoon around 5pm.
