The appointment was for Easter Monday in a location kept secret until the last moment. In the end the place chosen was Aldo Moro park. The objective: to reiterate the need to redevelop that green space and return it to citizens. It was April 18, 2022, the time for the restyling of the structure in Viale Regina Margherita was yet to arrive, the park was closed, the entrance blocked by a gate and the area held hostage by degradation. A group of people, who came from all over Italy, entered the fenced area managed by the Municipality on Easter Monday.
That “Easter” invasion ended up at the center of a trial against 25 people who, for various reasons, had to answer for invasion of land and resistance to a public official.
The trial ended with 8 convictions and 17 acquittals. Judge Antonio Barbagallo ordered a 6-month sentence, with the benefit of a suspended sentence, for the crime of resisting a public official while he acquitted because the fact does not constitute a crime for the invasion. Elena Zanghì, Antonio Arigò, David Peter Mario Midgley, Caudio Risitano, Giovanni Spampinato, Luca Pompejano, Francesco Maimone and Maurizio Biundo were sentenced to 6 months. They were also partially acquitted.

However, the following were totally acquitted: Laura Zanghì, Elvira Margherita Girlanda, Giacomo Anselmo, Marco Bonaccorso, Nicola Alessandro Arboscelli, Daniele Raffa, Claudia Marini, Danilo Indelicato, Maria Angela Savoca, Simone Di Blasi, Marcantonio Pinnizzotto, Elena Grimaldi, Ludovico Maria Vindigni, Caterina Anna Maria Condorelli, Victor David Pauly, Antonio Maugeri and Antonio Tasca.
