The Vittorio Emanuele gallery was transformed, on Easter Sunday, into a meeting and participation place for the presentation of the two youth lists in support of Federico Basile’s candidacy for mayor. An event that turned the spotlight on 64 young candidates, who took to the stage to talk about their journey, their ideas and their commitment to the city.
The protagonists of the initiative are the “Cateno per i Giovani” and “De Luca Mayor of Sicily” lists, designed to enhance the contribution of the new generations within the administrative project. The first involves candidates under 45, while the second is made up of under 35s, outlining a structured participation path that embraces different generational groups.
During the meeting it was also announced that the future councilor for youth policies will be identified within these two lists, a choice that aims to strengthen the central role of young people in the next city administration.
The electoral campaign will also be characterized by the “militancy by points” model, a system that will reward the active participation of the candidates not only in terms of consensus gathered, but also for presence, involvement and concrete contribution to the activities. Operational details will be announced in the coming days. During the event it was underlined how from the words of the candidates emerges “an authentic feeling of love for Messina and the concrete desire to contribute to its growth”.

Two lists, 64 young people who have chosen to put their face to it, to believe in a project and to put their skills at the service of the city, with love, dedication and passion.
This evening I listened to many voices: young women and men with an extraordinary desire to do, to concretely contribute to the growth of Messina.
Different stories, different paths, but a single common root: love for this city and the authentic desire to commit to its future.
And this is precisely where we start again.
From this energy, from this courage, from this choice to be there.
