“The Democratic Party of Messina has chosen from the beginning the path of responsibility and fair confrontation with all the forces of the centre-left”, said the provincial secretary Armando Hyerace on the sidelines of the regional table of progressive forces.
“The choice to favor the internal synthesis between the political forces is a conscious decision, taken in the party bodies and with a full sense of responsibility. The dialogue between parties and movements is physiological and necessary when building a serious proposal for the city: describing these times as a split means forcing reality. There is the awareness of building a serious and credible proposal for the city.
Moreover, the early return to voting arises from a precise political choice dictated by the personal gain of those who imposed it, accompanied by a narrative that has shifted responsibility onto alleged opposition obstacles. In reality, the opposition played its role in the merits of the measures, without giving in to propaganda. Someone’s permanent electoral campaign cannot dictate the times and methods of democratic confrontation” states Hyerace.
“The decision will be born here, in the responsibility of the Messina political forces, through serious and patient steps. We therefore understand the expectation and requests of the voters, a sign that the real novelty of these elections will be the centre-left project. However, we are not chasing imposed deadlines, but an already defined path, with planned internal steps. The times are clear and aware of the urgency of the moment, without however missing out on essential stages of a democratic confrontation”, he concludes.
