After the regular establishment of the seats yesterday, this morning the 253 electoral sections of the Municipality of Messina were installed, in addition to the 9 special seats, starting the voting operations for the election of the Mayor, the City Council and the district councils.
The electoral office of the Municipality of Messina replaced 42 polling station presidents and 94 scrutineers, while a further 83 presidents were replaced by the Court of Appeal, guaranteeing the full operation of all the city’s electoral sections. Between surrogates and replacements, 125 presidents have changed, with an average of one in two.
For the administrative consultations, 188,540 voters are registered to vote. Voting will take place today, Sunday 24 May, from 7am to 11pm, and will continue tomorrow, Monday 25 May, from 7am to 3pm.
Once voting concludes at 3pm tomorrow, counting operations will begin. The turnout data will be released today at 12pm, 7pm and 11pm, and tomorrow at 3pm, coinciding with the closing of voting operations.
It will be possible to obtain the issue of electoral cards and identity cards at Palazzo Zanca – Piazza Unione Europea 1, ground floor, today until 11 pm and tomorrow from 7 am to 3 pm, as well as at the offices of the six city districts.
Through the new dedicated website, developed internally by the Municipality of Messina by the RTD Service, voters, by connecting to the “Administrative Elections 2026” portal, can receive clear and updated information on the electoral consultations through a concise and accessible guide.

Results
The Municipality of Messina will make the turnout percentages available in real time and, at the end of the counting, the official results of the administrative elections for the Mayor, the City Council and the District Councils, with the related lists and related candidatures.
