A group of Calabrian teachers, including teachers of the Sfandale IC, IC Amarelli, IC San Francesco di Palmi and IC Alvaro di Chiaravalle, has experienced an important training experience in France, as part of a project by the Erasmus of the USR for Calabria. The initiative, which is part of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 accreditation for the school education sector, takes place in schools in the ter (Territire is Rural) where the Italian teachers were welcomed with professionalism and warmth by the French national pedagogical inspector Madame E. Guionnet, together with the teachers and the local pedagogical contacts.

The week of mobility has provided Job Shadowing, workshops and training moments on innovative teaching methodologies: in the foreground the clil (Content and Language Integrated Learning) the teaching of a discipline in a foreign language, but also robotics, coding, active teaching and paths on gender equality and stereotypes. The training initiative therefore allowed to immerse itself in French school and cultural reality. Workshops, moments of discussion and co-planning activities have enriched the program, stimulating a constructive interaction between Italian and French teachers.

The school manager of the “San Francesco” Comprehensive Institute of Palmi prof. Ferdinando Rotolo expresses his complacency for the participation of the school in the training initiative, which has allowed teachers to interact in an intensive way with other colleagues, through moments of discussion and teaching co-design, which will certainly have an important relapse also on the activity that the teachers will carry out the class, once returned to their school.

All this contributes to giving a new interactional dimension to teaching at our Institute, which is also equipped with these tools to respond to the challenges posed by globalization.
